Opening up your personal feelings and private life and writing about them in a book that anyone can read is super brave. I know I couldn’t do it. But Gabrielle Stone has done it - and her book is now available through Amazon and online at www.eatprayfml.com. We here at Cinemondo Industries wholeheartedly endorse sometimes going off the reservation and handling topics that aren’t in our wheelhouse. Because, well, life isn’t always about genre flicks and movie nights. Actually, it kind of is, but we like to force ourselves out of our comfy cozy stuff and handle other things. Check out our Joe Berlinger interview, where he tackles subjects that are most certainly NOT comfy cozy.
But Gabrielle came by the studios and talked about her parents, Christopher Stone and Dee Wallace Stone, and how growing up around the set influenced her life. But she also discussed what has happened to her in the last two years. I won’t spoil it here - listen to the podcast and then get her book. It’s an amazing story, full of pretty much everything. I’m glad she shared it with the world. We’ll all find some things here that we’ll identify with. A perfect summer read. Again, it’s not something I could have done. I can be the typical, closed-off emotionally distant male. Sometimes I’m not - but living your life and then writing about it in such plain and raw terms - and making it totally entertaining, is the trick. And Gabrielle has pulled it off!
It’s a very entertaining hour of chat - listen and if your interest is piqued, get the book. It’s the perfect kickoff to your summer reading season! -Mark Az
